Over recent years, more and more services and parts of our day-to-day life assume that everyone has online access, an email account and the skills to use a device.
During the pandemic, there has been a move to online shopping for many good reasons, but there has still been the option to go in person and buy things using cards or cash. Till-free stores that rely on customers having online mobile access could change that.
First till-free Amazon Fresh store opens in the UK
High-street shopping as we know it might be about to change for good after the opening of Amazon’s new store in London.
The ecommerce giant has unveiled its first till-free Amazon Fresh store in Ealing in West London.
What if this move by Amazon is a sign of things to come? What if, in a few years’ time, even buying groceries becomes something that you have to be online in order to be able to do?
It just highlights to me the importance of improving digital access for all, so that we are giving people the tools they need for a more high-tech future.
